We won. And Jospher was so pissed.

Okay so for the debate, we lost. But we had so much fun, that be it we won of not, it would be equally fun.

A little back ground. The school of business team is made up of Jospher, Jaime and Simon. Of which Jospher and Jaime are 3rd year student and school debaters who have always represented the school. They are experiences and well read. Jospher is the first speaker and reply speaker; Jaime is second and Simon is third.

On the side of the all mighty School of Maritime Academy, the team is made up of Anders, Jasmine and yes, me. All of us are first year student, first time debating. And how we got into the debate, till now; it’s still a mystery. Anders is the top student of DMTM (Diploma in Maritime Transport Management), I was nominated by 2 lectures (Capt. Tong & Ho) and being the top student, there’s no where to run. I guess of all the clueless, Jasmine is the most clueless of us all. I talked her into this shit as the top student form DME (Diploma in Marine Engineering) failed to appear. Yes, she’s my classmate

Anders is the first speaker I was the second and reply speaker and Jasmine was the third.

Jospher is what we called the Template. As the first speaker there are things he must lay down first. Therefore, he is like a computer. Feed in the data and turn on the speakers. No one liked him. In fact the whole team; they are known as arrogant and cocky and well… I can go on. According to Jasmine who did some sparing with him before; he loves his own voice. I think he wear cheap clothes which have totally no fashion senses. (hello? Retro in school is SO passé) of all. I can’t stand his hair. Anders just plain hates him in the guts. To a major extend the debate became a little personal. From what we gathered from the other SMA team they are really sarcastic. Especially Jospher. Jaime is ugly. For crying out loud. She should really do something about that little tummy. Get tummy trim or something. Simon. I don’t remember much of him. Just pity him as he was so out powered by the 2 of them. He jokes are not funny and oh yes.. his blazer was so oversized.

Anders was a JC student so he was very knowledge when come to war, politics and history. I normally feel as ease when it comes to social issues, local news and uncommon common knowledge. Jasmine is always good at presenting the 3rd side of the augments.
I must say that we made a great team and I really had a lot of fun working with them.

For the final, the motion was This House Believe That Casino Should Be Allowed In Singapore. We are the opposition. Jospher came out and gave both side of the picture. An attempt to throw us off out feet. But we saw it coming. Anders came out and stated our stand. A little not so well done as he did not managed to get all the stuff he should have said to the floor.

Then Jaime came out. Tried to be gracefully sarcastic but hurt no one. We know that they will be aggressive so we intended to play easy. Anders we playing Aikido, I was practicing Yoga and Jasmine was showing off her Qi Gong. It was unexpected. Really. My whole speech was more of a stand up comedy rather than an argument. I basically rebutted all their points with humor and grace that the floor cant stop laughing. But I know it must hurt really bad on the other camp. My words are not really kind. One of my classmates told me that the faces of the other camp turned black when they heard me speak. Then Simon came up and made a point which I took rather personally. (I will come to that later) then Jasmine came up and using her extremely polished reasoning skills made the other’s camp points totally senseless.

I was having so much fun at time that I have already stop taking notes. So for the reply speech; I barely have any points on my paper. Well… “Ladies and gentlemen…. A tap dance.” If you’ve watched Chicago you know what I mean. I went up and ‘slapped Simon between the eyes” I guess he wished he was never born. The floor laughed and cheered. Then I made more jokes and rest the case. Then it was Jospher. By now… we know that jospher was so pissed that he cannot find anymore ways to rebut our point. He said that this was a debate. And it require structure and something… and as I said.. he’s a template. He got them all.

So at the end of the day. I guess no one every made fun of them as much as I did for all of their pass debates. And we really had fun as winning was no big deal. And we felt really good pissing Jospher off.

Jospher got the best speaker for being the template. And they won because they clearly displaced their knowledge know how to debate. We on the other hand. Got the most cheer and were the true winners.

I can still remember how pissed Jospher was. Wahaha Mahahah!
